Study on Shifting Cultivation Cycle (Jhum Cycle) in Mokokchung District of Northeast India Using Multi Temporal Satellite Data

Shifting cultivation has a long history that predates the development of agriculture as whole. Locally known jhum farming in Northeast India, this system's farmers are referred to jhummias. The strategy is based on crop planting during wet season and cutting burning vegetation dry season. After growing crops for two three years, land left fallow number years before being further cultivated. locations area under various cycles currently inadequate.
